|
| Since it’s
founding by a visual artist + a choreographer in 2004, Norte Maar for
Collaborative Projects in the Arts has created, promoted + presented
countless collaborations—connecting artists with venues + each other.
This website celebrates these great connections
+ projects that are at times unusual, often unexpected + always
inspiring. It
is a privilege to celebrate with you norte maar @ 5 years!
From
the busting avenues of New York City, to the narrow streets of London,
to the rural plains of the Northern Tier of New York State, Norte Maar
has been a visionary leader in the collaborative spirit believing that
great art happens everywhere. Our many projects are not
limited by geography, as careful emphasis has been placed on connecting
the life + work of artists + activating communities through the
generative thread of partnership.
Always
honoring the spirit of Art, Norte Maar has become synonymous with
quality + it’s unique combination of ‘high art’ in ‘low places.’
Consistently our projects value diversity + taking risks. Who could
imagine a professional ballet performed in an ice rink? Who could
imagine ballet in a Wal-Mart parking lot? Art exhibitions in farm
houses + Nursing Homes? Norte Maar has + will continue to do so!
norte
maar @ 5 years is a celebration of ideas + images, hardwork + joy,
projects imagined + projects realized. We share this with the great
many artists, volunteers + contributors who have fearlessly joined us
in our effort to unite cultural forces, foster artistic expression +
raise the imaginative energy in us all.
