Norte Maar, BOS, Bushwick Open Studios, Arts in Bushwick, 2015, Bushwick, Brooklyn

Bushwick, Brooklyn – Norte Maar is pleased to participate in the 2015 Arts in Bushwick annual Bushwick Open Studios and Arts Festival. A cultural phenomenon, BOS2015 takes place Friday, June 5 – Sunday, June 7, 2015 and includes over 500 individual studios, shows, and exhibitions involving thousands of artists. This free event invites visual artists, performers, musicians, designers and the public to celebrate creative expression in one of the most vital arts districts in the world. For a full listing of open studios and events click here.

For its participation, NM will again host its 9th Annual Maps-N-Mimosas event opening the first day of Bushwick Open Studios, Sat, June 6 from 11am-2pm. On view at the apartment gallery will be a special exhibition featuring artists that have shown/participated in exhibitions at the apartment gallery. The exhibition titled, Hecho en Bushwick, revisits the title of the first public exhibition at NM’s apartment gallery. The show is “an historic survey of artists living and working in Bushwick.”

Also on view will be an ambitious site specific installation titled Branded Rose Bushwick by Carlton Scott Sturgill consisting of over 900 handmade roses made from button-down Ralph Lauren shirts on chain-link fences. Learn more about this project here.

Additionally, NM partners with The Vazquez Building to host the BOS Rooftop Dance Party celebrating the artists of Bushwick and featuring music by DJ JoJoSOUL, beer by Bushwick’s Braven Brewing Co. and our handsome doorman, Heath.
