theSUMMER CONSERVATORY is located in the North Country of New York State in the Village of Rouses Point. While the finest schools of dance can be found in the cities where often they are attached to major performing companies and attract the best instructors, Norte Maar recruits a renowned faculty of master teachers from all over the world to participate in our program. Now in its fourth year theSUMMER CONSERVATORY is a rare opportunity for our young rural friends to enjoy an affordable professional experience. In addition, theSUMMER CONSERVATORY is an experience where aspiring dancers train along side professional dancers.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
theSUMMER CONSERVATORY will provide a knowledgeable, experienced, and diverse faculty whose sole purpose will be to conduct educational classes based in philosophy of linking classroom study to performance. Students of the conservatory train along side professional dancers, who are between contracts with International and national dance companies.
ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS*:
So as to insure the best possible learning experience only dancers who are currently training at an intermediate to advanced level of ballet should register for theSUMMER CONSERVATORY(or by audition). Please inquire as to special sessions for the beginner and adult dancer.

FACILITIES+LOCATION:
All classes at theSUMMER CONSERVATORY are held at the Civic Center (Lake Street, Rouses Point). All classes will take place within the Center. Students should bring packed lunch. For our out-of-town participants, informantion on accomodation can be provided upon request. There are a limited number of host families in the Village of Rouses Point offering lodging at a small fee contact us

CLASS SCHEDULE (M-F 9:30am-12:00pm, 28 July-8 August):
AM daily ballet tech class at 9:30AM followed by classes in pointe/variation/men's class.
PM rehearsals will follow class as called.
*14 August classes will end at 12:30pm following ballet tech due to theFete de Danse dress rehearsal. Students of theSUMMER CONSERVATORY are welcome to watch this rehearsal. Those students enrolled at the PRINCIPAL tuition will receive a free ticket to the performance.

PRINCIPAL ($140.00):
two week session including daily ballet technique and additional classes + ticket to theFete de Danse
SOLOIST ($70.00):
one week session
UNDERSTUDY ($15.00 day pass):
a single day at the conservatory
