NEW PAINTINGS BY BROOKE MOYSE BROOKE
MOYSE makes landscapes with the lightest touch of paint and the
slightest hint of horizon. Her paintings illicit a euphoric, even
transcendental state. It is through her subtle use of color where subject and
non-subject remain unconfirmed. Her paintings explore the
relationship between history, memory, and nature. Likened to Poussin, these works echo a
classicism of clarity, logic, and order. Ms. Moyse is originally from Westchester County and received her BA from Bard College (2001). She holds a MFA from New York University (2006) and currently lives and works
in Bushwick.
